Writing
Through my writing, podcast and memoir, I explore therapy, relationships, self-discovery and the everyday experiences that shape our lives.
Why I Write
Writing has become an important part of my life. It offers you an opportunity to get to know who I am and how I think before deciding whether you might like to work with me.
- Know me beyond my qualifications
- Understand how I think and work
- Explore the themes that matter to me
- Decide if we might work well together

Sharing my story
One of the reasons I write, host my Moments That Make a Life podcast and share my own story is because I think it’s important that you have the opportunity to get to know me before deciding whether you’d like to work with me.
Therapy is a unique relationship. While it’s important that the focus in our sessions is on you, I don’t believe that means I have to be a mystery. In fact, sometimes knowing nothing about the person sitting opposite you can become a distraction in itself.
I’m not here to hide who I am. I simply believe there’s a time and a place for my story. The counselling room is for yours.
Outside our sessions, I won’t communicate with you in that way. Instead, if you’d like to know more about me, my writing, podcast and memoir are there for you to read or listen to in your own time. That way, you can decide whether I’m someone you feel you could work with, while keeping the focus where it belongs once therapy begins.
